30 inch tv stand – At first you might think picking a TV stand is a simple matter to do, but it’s only when you begin searching, which you realise how vast the options are. Various colors, a few made of glass, some wood, a few metallic or a combination, corner racks, TV cabinets, cantilever stands, this list continues.
So Where Do You Begin?
Size of this TV Stand
This is essential because the rack has to be large enough, but not too large that it dwarfs your TV and seems too large. Stands are usually quoted as being suitable for TVs up to a particular size. This means you should not put a TV on it that’s larger than that which is advocated, but you can eliminate TVs which are slightly smaller.
Tip: Assess your TV measurements and compare that to the rack, particularly the width. It will look strange if the TV overhangs the border, and it may not be safe. If you think you may upgrade to a bigger TV in the not too distant future, you might wish to think about getting a stand that is a bit bigger than what you need. Not too large though, otherwise your current TV will appear strange on a stand that is far too large for it. Plus a few racks with brackets will only be suitable for TVs in a specific size range.
Which Colour, Design and Material Do You Want the Stand?
These kinds of stands frequently arrive in a more conventional style box like shape. They usually have drawers, enclosed shelves or doors on the front. Many TV cabinets are also usually made of wood as the main material, and a few may have glass doors.
Tip: If you are going to put your gear like SKY, DVD player etc inside the cupboard, you’ll need to be certain that the remote sensor is visible through the glass door or board.
With these racks that your TV is mounted on a bracket, which increases the TV above the stand. This is a great alternative if you’re searching for a modern appearance and is only possible for LCD and plasma TVs.
Corner TV Stands
As its name suggests, these racks are for when you put the TV in the corner of this space. The stand looks just like a normal stand from the front, but it narrows slightly towards the trunk, so it matches snuggly into a corner.
Tip: Corner racks are great if you’re tight on space, because you are going to have the ability to push the rack farther into the corner and save a couple of much needed centimetres.
Wooden TV Stands
Most wooden TV stands are usually made with wooden veneers not good wood, helping to keep down the cost. You should ideally start looking for the exact same type of wood as your current furniture, so it fits up and doesn’t look strange.
Depending on the model and make, TV stands can arrive in ash, beech, cherry, mahogany, oak, pine or walnut.
Tips: Should you enjoy a specific type of rack but do not enjoy the type of wood, it’s worth asking if other kinds of wood are available (contact us). If you want a better quality rack, start looking for models which are made with ‘real’ wood veneers, as they’re usually hard to tell from real good wood.
Glass TV Stands
Again as its name suggests these racks are mainly made of glass, usually consisting of 2-3 toughened glass shelves with metal supports.
Tip: Many glass racks come with either black or clear glass shelves. So if you only find a black glass version but need clear glass, it’s always worth asking because both versions are often offered.
While the hottest stand color nowadays is black, you’ll also find them in silver, white and even red. Some more modern designs will also be offered in a high gloss finish. So look out for colors that will fit in and enhance your room layout.
